FAQs

Frequently Asked Questions

Q: What Causes My Pain?

A: It is estimated that nearly 3 out of every 10 people in the United Stated suffer from some form of chronic pain. Unlike acute pain, which goes away after the body has healed, chronic pain lingers despite a lack of ongoing tissue damage and is usually the result of trauma or a physical condition. Chronic pain is serious and can affect your ability to sleep, work, exercise, socialize, and concentrate.

At Comprehensive Pain Specialists, we specialize in caring for a wide variety of types of chronic pain including:

  • Neck and Back Pain
  • Arm and Leg Pain
  • Fibromyalgia / Myofascial Pain
  • Reflex Sympathetic Dystrophy (CRPS I and II)
  • Phantom Pain/Amputee Pain
  • Shingles
  • Abdominal and Pelvic Pain
  • Cancer Pain
  • Spinal Compression Pain

With the help of Comprehensive Pain Specialists, you won't have to live with your chronic pain any longer.

Q: Will I be pain-free after treatments are complete?

A: Our goal is to reduce your pain as much as possible to allow you to return to your normal activities. Some patients do experience the elimination of pain. In most cases, the patient’s pain is greatly reduced.

Q: Will I be awake for the procedures?

A: You will be awake for your procedures but will be given a light sedative to minimize discomfort.

Q: Will my insurance cover the treatment?

A: We accept all major insurances including Medicare and Workers’ Compensation. In most cases, insurance companies pay for the initial consultation and three treatments.

Q: Can you cure my pain?

A: Very often, yes. Some conditions may not be cured but are able to be controlled such as heart disease, high blood pressure or diabetes.
